The world is getting smaller, and with global communication easier than ever, global migration more prevalent, and knowledge more accessible and more specialized, ASU recognizes that research done in Phoenix can make an impact far beyond the American Southwest. The same goes for discoveries made in other parts of the world-we are not isolated, so why should our education be? Already boasting an internationally and culturally diverse student body, ASU has also developed partnerships with universities in China, Singapore and Mexico. In these institutions, as well as at universities across the globe, people are talking about sustainability, security, economic competitiveness and cultural awareness, and ASU is right there with them, seeing broadly even as it thinks deeply; reaching across oceans while sitting in the desert.
